Ms. King joined the Foreign Service in 1991. She is currently serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Overseas Citizens Services. Previously, she served as Managing Director for Visa Services (CA/VO) and Director of Public and Diplomatic Liaison. She has served overseas as Consul General (and prior to that, Visa Chief) in Mexico City, Visa Chief in Warsaw, Consular Section Chief in Nassau, and entry level tours in Trinidad and Germany. Domestically, Karin has worked in the Bureau of Consular Affairs’ Executive Office (CA/EX) and in the Office of Overseas Citizens Services (CA/OCS). She speaks German and Spanish. Ms. King has a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and received her B.A. from the College of Wooster. She is married to fellow FSO Jack Hinden and has two children.
